Stephen Ruediger, 67, is a retired newspaper reporter who worked at various newspapers including The Miami Herald, the Tampa Tribune, the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, The Islander on Sanibel Island and the Fort Myers News-Press.
Steve has a BA in international relations from American University in Washington, D.C. and wrote for Congressional Quarterly. He also was a stockbroker. He is a member of Mensa, the high IQ society.
Steve is a member of Sanibel Island Writers Critique Group Two, Gulf Coast Writers Association, Southwest Florida Romance Writers, Mystery Writers of America, and Florida Writers Association.
In February, 2008, he had a heart attack followed by open heart surgery, which included five bypasses. In early August, 2008, a stent was put in one of those bypasses. Six more stents were put in early in September.
